Evaluation

Accenture does not have certifications for all its locations, otherwise, the company has clear objectives, clear progress and many awards.

However, the reason it has been given a C rating despite the certificates, listings and sustainability actions and initiatives it takes, is because it offers consultancy services in the oil and gas industry under exploration and production and refining, thus playing an indirect role and acting as a facilitator in the oil and gas industry.

Analyst Outlook: Neutral

Accenture has clear sustainability goals and alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Despite this, their partnerships with the oil and gas industry proved to have an adverse effect on their initiatives.

Key Points

  • Accenture is the largest professional services company to have a science-based target approved by the Science Based Targets Initiative.
  • Accenture has committed to RE100’s global initiative to use 100% renewable electricity by 2023.
