Company Activity

ASE Technology Holding Co., Ltd. is jointly established by the combination of Advanced Semiconductor Engineering, Inc. and Siliconware Precision Industries Co., Ltd. ASE Technology Holding will enhance research and development capability, expand global market footprint, contribute advanced technical support for next-generation applications, and provide miniaturised, high-quality, highly integrated, and fast time-to-market services to all customers.

ASE Technology Holding is the leading provider of semiconductor manufacturing services in assembly and test. The Company develops and offers complete turnkey solutions covering front-end engineering test, wafer probing and final test, as well as IC packaging, materials and electronic manufacturing services through USI with superior technologies, breakthrough innovations, and advanced development programs. By integrating the resources of each business entity, they remain committed to long term partnerships for a win-win sustainable future.

ASE Technology Holding will follow the highest corporate governance standards and implement sustainable business philosophies. Company Sustainable Activity

According to the company: 

“In 2018, the company actively participated in various sustainability-related forums. With regards to economic sustainability, the company held supplier sustainability meetings at all of its major business locations and outstanding suppliers receive sustainability awards at the Best Supplier Award Ceremony. On environmental sustainability, ASE cohosted the 2018 Smart Grid Conference with Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research and Taiwan Institute of Economic Research, where experts were invited to present strategies to fight global climate change. Also, TASS (Taiwan Alliance for Sustainable Supply) and ASEH co-organized the “Circular Economy and the Sustainable Supply Chain – 2018 Taiwan Forum”. Participants from the semiconductor industry, TASS member companies and ASE’s supply chain were engaged in a lively discussion on how a circular economy could be achieved to sustain the rich development of the semiconductor industry.”

Sustainability 2020 is ASEH’s long-term strategic commitment to sustainability. Each year, the CSC reviews the progress of ASEH’s sustainable development targets.

Based on “Integrating the SDGs into Corporate Reporting: A Practical Guide”, ASEH classified the 17 SDGs into three tiers: 

  • Tier 1 – SDGs most relevant to the company’s operations and must be immediately addressed ( 4, 6, 7, 8, 12, 13)
  • Tier 2 – SDGs highly relevant to the company’s operations and must be addressed in the future ( 1, 3, 9, 10, 11)
  • Tier 3 – SDGs relatively irrelevant to the company and do not pose a threat to its business models or industry  ( 2, 5, 14, 15, 16, 17)

ASE Technology Holdings are actively working on reusable resources and renewable energy, on the safety of their employees and the respect of human rights. Having a low-carbon imprint is one of their priorities. They provide very clear communication on their goals and progress towards sustainability.

In addition, ASE Technology Holding has received secondary certificates for part of its activity.
