Social and Environmental Green Evaluation System (SEGES)

Certificate Description

The Social and Environmental Green Evaluation System (SEGES) is a certification system that evaluates green spaces owned and managed by private businesses and how they impact their citizens, the environment, and society.

Within SEGES there are three types of certification: “Sodate Green“, “Urban Oasis“, and “Creating Green.”

The Sodate Green certificate recognizes green spaces owned by private businesses, the Urban Oasis certification recognizes urban green spaces, and the Creating Green certification recognizes plans for green spaces that are being developed.

SEGES is operated by the Urban Greening Organization, a public interest incorporated foundation dedicated to creating, protecting, and nurturing greenery in Japan’s cities.
